-Paddington-

A movie summary of “Paddington”, Directed by Paul King

Paddington Bear lived with his Aunt Lucy and Uncle Pastuzo. They had been planning to go to London for forty years. Explorer Montgomery Claude had an expedition many years ago. When he left, he said that they would be welcome to come to London anytime.

On Marmalade day (a day when the oranges go ripe, to turn them into marmalade), the bears put them into many jars, for they were planning to bring them to London the next day.

They stacked up the jars and used a few to eat them with bread. While laying on their branches, Paddington heard some rumbling.

Suddenly, an earthquake happened in the night, and Uncle Pastuzo didn’t make it out alive.

Paddington had to go to London by himself. However, as soon as he got there, he did not find anyone who knew about the explorer. Luckily, he met the Browns. Mr Brown didn’t find Paddington very friendly, so he made decisions to take him to the authorities.

But, however, an old man named Mr Gruber checked Paddington’s hat to see if there was anything that the explorer had left.

Mr Gruber cleaned the hat and saw that there was some writing on it. He blew it and wiped it more, until it showed a name, called Montgomery Clyde.

Paddington and Mrs Brown ran home to tell the rest.

But Mr Brown didn’t seem like a pleasant man in the point for animals. He said that it was just best for him to go to the authorities; but his wife said to go to the explorer’s guild first, so that Paddington would be able to find the explorer to look after him.

Their children also said the same thing. They didn’t want to let the bear go all alone in the authorities with strangers, else he can’t call them all the same.

So Mr Brown admit that he would go in the explorer’s guild with Paddington.

They tried to find a scroll about it…and finally they did.

Montgomery Clyde had been on an exhibition to Darkest Peru, where Paddington and his aunt and uncle had lived.

Although one day, a woman broke into the Brown’s house when they weren’t there, only Paddington was.

Paddington went into the freezer while the woman searched for him. Suddenly, the woman accidently opened the oven which was unexpectedly on. It set off the alarm.

As it did, she ran away…

The Browns were angry with Paddington when they got home. They didn’t even believe in Paddington’s story about the woman who broke in.

The bear felt heartbroken. He packed his things and went out to find the explorer.

He went to many houses, until he found a house with an owner called Ms Clyde.

She was actually the daughter of the explorer, but she was also very cruel and heart as dark as a devil’s.

In fact, she was the woman who broke in the Brown’s house! She wanted to cut Paddington and stuff him in the museum display!

But Mrs Brown, who had missed Paddington dearly, asked for any definition she could to find the poor bear, until she bumped into Mr Curry, who told her about the woman, and that she had kidnapped Paddington!

The Browns (and Mrs Bird, their cleaner) rushed off to the museum in time to see Paddington, lying on a bench with no one looking after him. Mr Brown had to climb up the wall to get Paddington to wake up.

Paddington thought, as he heard Mr Brown’s voice, ‘God, is that you?’

Mr Brown shook his head and shouted and knocked the window.

‘You sound a lot like Mr Brown’

Paddington turned and saw Mr Brown. He said they were heading to the chimney and to meet them there.

Paddington rushed out before the woman came and went up the fireplace to see the Browns.

But before he did, he slipped! He kept falling before the Brown children caught him. They pulled him up and hugged him.

The Browns promised that they will never let Paddington out of their sight again. From now on, they lived happily ever after.

The End
